Abstract: This study aims to find out how the independence of students in the Az-Zakiyah Islamic School elementary school. Student independence that is expected by the school must be in line with what the State wants. The school makes its own program, which is named the home stay program. This program is a program that aims to develop student independence carried out with activities that contain social activities that teach children to be able to socially and behave well towards others and help children to develop their social abilities. The population of this study was 5th grade elementary school students as many as 33 people. The research sample was 33 people, sampling technique with total sampling method. This study uses a psychological scale that is the scale of independence. The analysis technique was carried out using the t-test. t-test results were 19.775 with p <0.000, and homogeneity test was 20.926. In the research results obtained a very high or significant difference between before being given the home stay program and after the home stay, where the empirical mean before being given a home stay program of 78.52 and after home stay of 105, 15. For independence variables, obtained very high results. With these results, the hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive relationship that is the influence of the home stay program on the character of student independence can be accepted.
Description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemandirian siswa di sekolah dasar Az-Zakiyah Islamic School. Kemandirian siswa yang diharapkan oleh pihak sekolah harus sejalan dengan yang diinginkan oleh Negara. Pihak sekolah membuat programnya sendiri, yang diberi nama program homestay. Program ini adalah sebuah program yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemandirian siswa yang dilaksanakan dengan kegiatan-kegiatan yang berisi kegiatan social yang mengajarkan anak untuk mampu bersosial dan bersikap dengan baik terhadap orang lain dan membantu anak-anak untuk mengembangkan kemampuan sosialnya. Populasi penelitian ini siswa kelas 5 SD sebanyak 33 orang. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 33 orang, teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode total sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala psikologi yaitu skala kemandirian. Teknik analisis yang dilakukan menggunakan uji t-test. hasil uji t-test yaitu 19,775 dengan p < 0,000, dan uji homogenitas sebesar 20,926. Pada hasil penelitian didapat perbedaan yang sangat tinggi atau signifikan antara sebelum diberikan program homestay dan sesudah homestay, dimana mean empirik sebelum diberi program homestay sebesar 78,52 dan sesudah homestay sebesar 105, 15. Untuk variabel kemandirian, didapat hasil yang sangat tinggi. Dengan hasil tersebut, hipotesis dalam penelitian ini yaitu ada hubungan positif yaitu ada pengaruh program homestay terhadap karakter kemandirian siswa dapat diterima.
