Abstract: Pemindahan bahan atau material handling merupakan suatu aktivitas yang sangat penting dalam kegiatan produksi dan memiliki kaitan erat dengan perencanaan tata letak fasilitas industri. Oleh karena itu, jarak material handling harus diminimalisir dengan cara mengatur tata letak fasilitas produksi atau departemen yang ada. Industri kecil tahu Pak Ponimin merupakan unit usaha yang bergerak dalam bidang produksi pangan khususnya tahu dan olahannya. Pada proses perancangannya, Industri kecil tahu pak ponimin tidak mempertimbangkan efisiensi pabrik, baik dari kelancaran gerakan perpindahan material, maupun penempatan stasiun kerja, sehingga ditemukan kendala berupa tingginya biaya material handling akibat jauhnya jarak material handling. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang ulang tata letak pabrik tahu sehingga menghasilkan tata letak usulan dengan biaya material handling yang lebih rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode algoritma blocplan, algoritma blocplan merupakan algoritma heuristik yang menggunakan data kuantitatif maupun data kualitatif. Algoritma ini bisa digunakan untuk perancangan tata letak fasilitas yang sifatnya construction maupun improvement. Dimana algoritma dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan single story maupun story layout. Perancangan ulang tata letak dimulai dengan pengumpulan data berupa nama departemen, jumlah departemen, kebutuhan luas departemen, dan derajat kedekatan yang dituangkan kedalam peta keterkaitan hubungan aktivitas atau Activity Relationship Chart (ARC). Berdasarkan analisis perhitungan Blocplan, dihasilkan 20 alternatif layout usulan. Layout usulan yang dipilih merupakan layout dengan nilai R–score tertinggi, yaitu 0,93. Penerapan tata letak usulan akan menurunkan ongkos material handling dari Rp. 16.713.840,- menjadi x Rp. 10.939.920,- per bulan. Persentase penghematan ongkos material handling sebesar 15,8% per bulan. Moving materials or material handling is an activity that very important in production activities and has a close relationship with industrial facility layout planning. Therefore, the material distance handling must be minimized by arranging the layout of the facility existing production or department. Small industry, Mr. Ponimin knows is a business unit engaged in the field of food production especially tofu and its preparations. In the design process, small industry I know Mr. Ponimin doesn't consider factory efficiency, either from smooth movement of material transfer, as well as station placement work, so that obstacles were found in the form of high material costs handling due to the long distance of material handling. The aim of this research is to redesign the layout of the tofu factory to produce a layout proposed location with lower material handling costs. Study This uses the blocplan algorithm method, blocplan algorithm is a heuristic algorithm that uses quantitative data as well qualitative data. This algorithm can be used for layout design facilities that are construction or improvement in nature. Where Algorithms can solve single story and story problems layouts. Layout redesign begins with data collection in the form of department name, number of departments, department area requirements, and the degree of closeness as outlined in the linkage map activity relationship or Activity Relationship Chart (ARC). Based on analysis of Blocplan calculations, resulting in 20 alternative proposed layouts. Layouts The selected proposal is the layout with the highest R-score, namely 0.93. Implementing the proposed layout will reduce material costs handling from Rp. 16,713,840,- becomes x Rp. 10,939,920,- per month. The percentage of material handling cost savings is 15.8% per month.
