Abstract: Korosi merupakan suatu proses yang merugikan pada logam yang diakibatkan oleh proses elektrokimia antara logam dengan lingkungannya. Dimana proses ini tidak dapat dihilangkan, hanya dapat dikendalikan atau ditanggulangi. Korosi ini terjadi disebabkan oleh 4 (Empat) kondisi yaitu Anoda, Katoda, Elektrolit dan Konduktor yang menghantarkan arus dari katoda ke anoda. Korosi dapat dikendalikan dengan sistem Pembalutan, Material Pengisi, Insulating Joint dan Insulating Flange serta Penggunaan Sistem Proteksi Katodik yaitu Sistem Anoda Korban dan Sistem Arus Tanding (Impressed Current). Corrosion is a process that is detrimental to metal by electrochemical processes between the metal and its environment. Where is this process cannot be eliminated, it can only be controlled or overcome. This corrosion occurs due to 4 (Four) conditions, namely Anode, Cathode, Electrolyte and A conductor that carries current from the cathode to the anode. Corrosion can be controlled with a Bandaging system, Filling Material, Insulating Joint and Insulating Flange and the use of cathodic protection systems, namely sacrificial anode systems and systems Current Counter (Impressed Current).
