Abstract: Universitas Medan Area adalah salah satu PTS di Sumtara Utara yang turut terlibat dalam pengembangan teknologi Energi Baru Terbarukan (EBT). Perkembangan teknologi nilah yang menginisisasi pihak Universias berupaya untuk pengembangan sistem kelistrikan dengan mengembangkan sistem Smart Grid guna menekan biaya oprasional Universitas. Namun dalam upaya realisasinya memilki tantagan tersendiri seperti kestabilan aliran daya dan stabilitas transient. Kedua persoalan itu dapat dianalisis dengan menggunakan software Etap 12.6. Pada salah satu kasus yang dianalisis bahwa sistem smart grid dapat menekan penggunaan kerja daya aktif trafo sebesar 11 kW dan arus sebesar 19,7 Amp. Sedangkan pada kondisi PLN Off sistem smart grid belum mampu menyuplai beban dikarnakan ketersedian sumber reneweble energy tidak mencukupi kebtuhan beban. Serta hasil dari analisis tegangan dan frekuensi terdapat tegangan tertinggi sebesar 376,4 Volt, terendah 375,9 Volt dimana masih dalam kategori stabil dari deviasi tegangan 380 Volt karena tidak +5% dan -10%, serta frekuesi secara keseluruhan kasus yang di bahas konsisten stabil di nominal 50 Hz. Medan Area University is one of the private universities in North Sumatra which is also involved in the development of New and Renewable Energy Technology (EBT). This technological development has initiated the University's efforts to develop an electrical system by developing a Smart Grid system in order to reduce the University's operational costs. However, in its realization, it has its own challenges, such as power flow stability and transient stability. Both problems can be analyzed using Etap 12.6 software. In one of the cases analyzed, the smart grid system can reduce the use of active power transformers by 11 kW and currents of 19.7 Amps. Meanwhile, in the PLN Off condition, the smart grid system has not been able to supply the load because the availability of renewable energy sources is not sufficient for the load requirement. As well as the results of the voltage and frequency analysis, the highest voltage is 376.4 Volts, the lowest is 375.9 Volts, which is still in the stable category from the voltage deviation of 380 Volts because it is not +5% and -10%, as well as the overall frequency of the cases discussed. consistently stable at nominal 50 Hz.
