Symbolic violence is power that is used to construct an object or reality that exists in society. Symbolic violence in this study is violence against women depicted through the media, namely the film entitled Imperfect 2019 by Ernest Prakasa. This study aims to describe or represent and analyze symbolic violence against women which is illustrated in the film Imperfect and wants to know how the forms of symbolic violence are. This study uses a qualitative approach and data collection techniques through observation and interviews. There were six informants in this study, using purposive sampling and who watched the film Imperfect. The theory used is Norman Fairclough's critical discourse theory which is studied using three dimensions, namely text, discourse practice and socio-cultural practice. The results showed that in text analysis there were seven texts that represented symbolic violence against women. The seven texts have two dominations, namely the dominance of the female body shape and the dominance in the family. Then, through analysis of critical discourse practice, researchers see that symbolic violence against women occurs and is widely experienced by the community. The existence of symbolic violence in the film is also justified by the audience and this is also in accordance with the social conditions of the community.en_US
