Road is one of the land transportation transportation infrastructure that functions as a liaison between one region and another and has an important role in the economic, tourism, socio-cultural and other fields. In the urban transportation system in the Deli Serdang Regency, the Jalan Jamin Ginting section serves as a link between the city of Medan and Karo Regency. The Jamin Ginting causeway acts as the main road used by road users to the city center and outside the city. This situation causes a high level of demand for traffic movements for the people of Medan and its surroundings. This research was conducted by collecting data, both primary data consisting of vehicle volume surveys and secondary data obtained from related agencies. The analysis of the level of road service on this guaranteed ginting cross-road was processed using the Bina Marga method with the guidance of the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI 1997). Based on the results of the field survey, the first location of observation has a volume of 2109.25 pcu/hour and is the densest. The capacity at the first location of observation is 4766.58 pcu/hour, so the degree of saturation is 0.45 pcu/hour. The 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual recommends that if the degree of saturation > 0.75 is obtained, it is necessary to make improvements to the road, both physically and in traffic control. This means that at the first observation location on the Jamin Ginting Pancur Batu road, it still meets the requirements, and does not need to be improved. The average speed at the first location of observation was 15 km/hour which was dominated by motorcycles with a side resistance weight frequency of 127.5 which was classified in the Low category (MKJI, 1997).en_US
