Perbedaan Motivasi Berprestasi pada Mahasiswa Bidikmisi dengan Reguler (Non Bidikimisi) di Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

This study aims to test empirically and know the difference of achievement motivation in student bidikmisi with regular (non bidikmisi). This research was conducted on campus of 1 (one) University of Medan Area, with respondent (research subject) is a university student of Medan Area which amounts to 60 people, 30 people are students of bidikmisi scholarship and 30 are regular students (non bidikmisi). Achievement motivation is the desire to accomplish something to achieve a standard of success, and to make a business with the goal of achieving success. Based on the theoretical review, the hypothesis in this study is that there is a difference of achievement motivation between the students bidikmisi and reguler (non bidikmisi) with the assumption of achievement motivation of higher bidikmisi student than the regular student (non bidikmisi). The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling for regular students (non bidikmisi) by ordinal (same / multiplier) and sampling technique that is used for student bidikmisi using total sampling. In this study, the achievement motivation scale is based on the achievement motivation aspects of McClelland. The measuring tool used in this research is the liker scale consisting of 98 statements (items). From result of data analysis of research by using T-test technique show that there is difference of achievement motivation between student bidikmisi with regular (non bidikmisi) at University of Medan Area. This is shown by the coefficient of t-test at t = 6.462 with p <0.01 (p = 0,000). Judging from the mean (average) the achievement motivation of student bidikmisi higher (average = 318.67) compared with the achievement motivation of regular students (average = 265,80)
