Abstract: Dengan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin canggih, pemerintah menciptakan sistem absensi online di instansi pemerintahan bertujuan mampu meningkatkan disiplin kerja pegawai. Awal penerapan absensi online di Dinas Tenaga Kerja Provinsi Sumatera Utara mengalami kendala dalam hal beradaptasi, dari 104 pegawai 15 pegawainya kesulitan dalam menggunakannya. Di tahun 2020 sampai 2021 pegawai di Dinas Tenaga Kerja Provinsi Sumatera Utara mengalami kendala di kepuasan kerja, sehingga berdampak pada produktivitas pegawai. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana efektivitas dan dampak yang diberikan dari penerapan absensi online terhadap disiplin kerja pegawai.Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dimana teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan absensi online di Dinas Tenaga Kerja Provinsi Sumatera Utara telah berjalan cukup baik, dapat diliat dari beberapa indikator efektivitas menurut Tangkilisan: pencapaian target, terealisasikan dengan baik dalam meningkatkan disiplin kerja pegawai. Kemampuan adaptasi, awal penerapannya mengalami kendala, salah satu faktornya kurangnya pemahaman pegawai dalam menggunakannya. Kepuasan kerja saat tahun 2020 dan 2021 mengalami penurunan dikarenakan pandemi covid-19. Tanggung jawab, telah dilakukan dengan baik dalam kehadiran maupun melaporkan kinerja.Adapun dampak yang diberikan yaitu produktivitas meningkat, namun saat pendemi covid-19 mengalami penurunan dan kedua meningkatkan motivasi dimana pegawai akan mendapatkan TPP (Tunjangan Penghasilan Pegawai). With the development of increasingly sophisticated technology, the government created an online attendance system in government agencies aimed at improving employee work discipline.When the North Sumatra Provincial Manpower Office first implemented online attendance, it was difficult for them to adapt; out of 104 employees, 15 had trouble using it.From 2020 to 2021, employees at the North Sumatra Provincial Manpower Office experienced job satisfaction problems, which had an impact on employee productivity.The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness and impact of the application of online attendance on employee work discipline.This research is a qualitative descriptive study, and the methods used to gather data were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the application of online attendance at the Provincial Manpower Office North Sumatra is going quite well, it can be seen from several indicators which according to Tangkilisan: the echievement on targets has been well realized in improving employee work discipline.Adaptability, the initial implementation experienced problems, one of the reasons being that staff members didn't know how to use it. Job satisfaction in 2020 and 2021 have decreased due to the covid-19 pandemic.Responsibilities have been carried out both in experience and in reporting performance.The impact stated has grown, specifically growing, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has decreased and Additionally, increasing employee motivation will result in TPP (Employee Income Allowance).
