Kompos jerami padi terdiri dari 5 taraf perlakuan, yaitu: J0 : Kontrol (tanpa perlakuan), J1 :Kompos jerami padi 5 ton/ha, J2 :Kompos jerami padi 10 ton/ha, J3: Kompos jerami padi 15 ton/ha, J4: Kompos jerami padi 20 ton/ha. Sedangkan FMA terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu: M0 : Kontrol (Tanpa Perlakuan), M1 : FMA 5 g/m2, M2 : FMA 10 g/m2, M3 : FMA 15 g/m2. Variabel pengamatan meliputi : tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang, umur berbunga, jumlah buah per sampel, produksi per tanaman sampel, produksi per plot, pengamatan organisme pengganggu tanaman. Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is one of the important vegetable commodities in Indonesia as a cooking ingredient. In an effort to increase the production of red chili plants, compost from rice straw and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) can be used. This study aims to determine the effect of rice straw compost and AMF on the growth and production of cayenne pepper. This research was conducted on Jl. Pool No. 1 Medan Estate, Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict, Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area. This research method used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, namely: rice straw compost and AMF. Rice straw compost consisted of 5 treatment levels, namely: J0: Control (without treatment), J1: Rice straw compost 5 tons/ha, J2: Rice straw compost 10 tons/ha, J3: Rice straw compost 15 tons/ha, J4 : Compost rice straw 20 tons/ha. Meanwhile, FMA consisted of 4 levels, namely: M0 : Control (without treatment), M1 : FMA 5 g/m2, M2: FMA 10 g/m2, M3 : FMA 15 g/m2. Observation variables included: plant height, number of branches, flowering age, number of fruit per sample, production per sample plant, production per plot, observations of plant-disturbing organisms. The results showed that the treatment of rice straw compost had no significant effect on all observation variables. The AMF treatment had a significant effect on the production per sample. AMF treatment with a dose of 0.15 kg/ha had the highest average value on the production of cayenne pepper.
