Abstract: Kinerja pegawai merupakan prestasi kerja, yakni perbandingan antara hasil kerja yang dapat dilihat secara nyata dengan standar kerja yang telah ditetapkan oleh organisasi. Berdasarkan pengamatan dilapangan ada beberapa masalah yang ditemui yaitu masih adanya keterlambatan dalam penerimaan surat masuk dari bagain-bagian yang terkait seperti bagian Umum yang membuat proses kinerja pegawai Subbag Rumah Tangga kadang terlambat dan juga masih terdapatnya kesalahan dalam memasukan data indeks surat ke dalam sistem program. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja pegawai Subbag Rumah Tangga bagian Umum Sekretariat Kota Medan.Jenis dan sumber data adalah data primer dan data sekunder.Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptifkualitatif, yang artinya data diambil dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi.Dengan metode ini penulis menguraikan dan mengaitkan dengan teori serta memberikan keterangan mendukung dalam menjawab masing-masing indikator dan memberikan interprensi terhadap hasil yang relevan serta diambil kesimpulan dan saran. Sekretaria Kota Medan beralamat dijalan kapten maulana No.2, yang bersebelahan dengan Grand Palladium dan berseberangan dengan kantor DPRD provinsi Sumatera Utara.Dalam kinerja pegawai administrasi Rumah Tangga memiliki 4 indikator dalam melaksanakan tugas administrasi yang meliputi pembuatan surat, penomoran surat, penerimaan surat masuk, dan pengimputan surat masuk ke dalam sistem program (komputer). Dari hasil analisis yang penulis lakukan penulis mengambil kesimpulan bahwa kinerja pegawai Subbag Rumah Tangga bagian administrasi yang dilihat dari segi pembuatan surat dan pengimputan surat masuk kedalam sistem program dapat dikategorikan belum optimal, sedangkan dilihat dari segi penomoran dan penerimaan surat dapat dikategorikan sudah optimal. Employee performance is work performance, namely the comparison between work results that can be seen in real terms with the work standards that have been set by the organization. Based on field observations, there are several obstacles faced, namely there are still delays in receiving incoming letters from related departments such as the General section which makes the performance process of the Household Subdivision employees sometimes late and there are still errors in filling out the letters. index data into the system program.This study aims to determine the performance of employees of the Household Subdivision of the General Secretariat of Medan City.Types and sources of data are primary data and secondary data. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature, which means that the data is taken from the results of observations, interviews, and documentation.With this method the authors describe and link with the theory and provide supporting information in answering each indicator and providing interpretation of the relevant results and drawing conclusions and suggestions.The Medan City Secretariat is located on the street of Captain Maulana No.2, which is adjacent to the Grand Palladium and opposite the DPRD office of North Sumatra province.In the performance of household administration employees have 4 indicators in carrying out administrative tasks which include writing letters, numbering letters, receiving incoming letters, and importing incoming letters into the program system (computer).From the results of the analysis that the authors conducted, the authors concluded that the performance of the employees of the Household Subdivision in the administration section seen in terms of making letters and importing incoming letters into the program system can be categorized as not optimal, while viewed from the point of view of numbering and receiving letters can be categorized as already optimal.
