Abstract: Sapu ijuk merupakan salah satu komoditas andalan yang ada di esa Medan Sinembah yang dijadikan sebagai salah satu mata pencaharian keluarga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat pengrajin sapu ijuk di Desa Medan Sinembah dengan indikator yaitu jumlah tanggungan, pendapatan sapu ijuk, pendapatan luar sapu, ijuk, konsumsi rumah tangga, pendidikan anak, keadaan tempat tinggal, fasilitas tempat tinggal, kesehatan anggota keluarga. Daerah yang ditentukan secara Purposive Sampling karena daerah tersebut merupakan daerah penghasil komoditas andalan di Kabupaten Deli Serdang, sedangkan pengambilan sampel untuk pengrajin menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh sebanyak 31 pengrajin yang memproduksi sapu ijuk dengan jumlah kurang dari 10.000 batang sapu perbulan. Data penelitian yang diperoleh berdasarkan hasil dari kuesioner dan wawancara yang kemudian dideskripsikan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diketahui rata-rata tingkat kesejahteraan pengrajin sapu ijuk termasuk dalam kategori sedang dengan persentase 74% dengan rata-rata jumlah tanggungan sebanyak 4 orang, pendapatan yang diperoleh dari pengrajin rata-rata sebesar Rp. 1.848.000 dan pendapatan luar ijuk sebesar Rp. 903.225, dengan mengeluarkan rumah tangga pengrajin rata rata Rp. 1.574.194 per bulan. Adapun pendidikan anak pengrajin rata-rata tergolong baik, keadaan tempat tinggal pengrajin rata-rata memiliki rumah semi permanen, fasilitas tempat tinggal rata-rata tergolong cukup lengkap dan kesehatan keluarga pengrajin yang tergolong cukup baik. Broom fiber is one of the mainstay commodities in Medan Sinembah Village which is used as one of the family's livelihoods. This research was carried out with the aim of knowing the level of welfare of the community of palm fiber broom craftsmen in Medan Sinembah Village with indicators, namely the number of dependents, fiber broom income, external income of brooms, fibers, household consumption, children's education, living conditions, housing facilities, health of members. family. The area determined by purposive sampling is because the area is a mainstay commodity-producing area in Deli Serdang Regency, while sampling for craftsmen uses a saturated sampling technique as many as 31 craftsmen who produce fiber brooms with an amount of less than 10,000 broom sticks per month. The research data obtained were based on the results of questionnaires and interviews which were then described using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results showed that the average level of welfare of palm fiber broom craftsmen was included in the medium category with a percentage of 74% with an average number of dependents as many as 4 people, the income earned from the craftsmen on average was Rp. 1,848,000 and income from outside the fibers of Rp. 903.225, by removing artisan households an average of Rp. 1,574,194 per month. As for the education of the craftsmen's children, on average, the condition of the craftsmen's residence has a semi-permanent house, the average residential facilities are quite complete and the health of the craftsmen's families is quite good.
