Abstract: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Lahan Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area, Jalan Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan dengan ketinggian tempat 22 mdpl, topografi datar dan jenis tanah alluvial. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2019 sampai Januari 2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial, dengan 2 (dua) faktor perlakuan, yakni : 1) Faktor perlakuan pemberian biochar kulit jengkol (B) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf,yaitu : B0 = tanpa pemberian biochar kulit jengkol (kontrol) ; B1 = 0,72 kg/plot ; B2 = 1,44 kg/plot ; B3 = 2,16 kg/plot ;2) Faktor perlakuan pemberian pupuk kandang ayam (K) dengan 4 taraf, yaitu: K0 = tanpa pemberianpupuk kandang ayam (kontrol); K1 = 1,08 kg/plot; K2 = 2,16 kg/plot ; K3 = 3,24 kg/plot, masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 (tiga) kali sehingga terdapat 48 plot percobaan. Setiap plot percobaan terdiri dari 9 tanaman dengan 4 tanaman sampel.Parameter yang diamati yaitu : tinggi tanaman,diameter batang, jumlah daun, hari berbunga, diameter tongkol, panjang tongkol, Intensitas serangan hama.Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut : 1) Pemberian biochar kulit jengkol tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap fase vegetatif mulai dari tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun dan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap fase generatif mulai dari hari berbunga, diameter tongkol serta panjang tongkol; 2) Pemberian pupuk kandang ayam tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap fase vegetatif mulai dari tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun tetapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang. Sedangkan pada fase generatif tidak berpengaruh nyata mulai dari hari berbunga, diameter tongkol dan panjang tongkol.; 3)Perlakuan kombinasi antara pemberian biochar kulit jengkol dan pupuk kandang ayam tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap fase vegetatif mulai dari tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun dan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap fase generatif mulai dari hari berbunga diameter tongkol serta panjang tongkol. The research was conducted in the Experimental Field Area of the Faculty of Agriculture, Medan Area University, Kolam street No. 1, Percut Sei Tuan, 22 meters above sea level, flat topography and alluvial soil types. The research was conducted from October 2019 to January 2020. The method used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RBD), with 2 (two) treatment factors, namely: 1) The treatment factor for giving jengkol skin biochar (B) which consisted of 4 levels, namely: B0 = without offering jengkol skin biochar (control); B1 = 0.72 kg / plot; B2 = 1.44 kg / plot; B3 = 2.16 kg / plot; 2) The treatment factor of giving chicken manure (K) with 4 levels, namely: K0 = without giving chicken manure (control); K1 = 1.08 kg / plot; K2 = 2.16 kg / plot; K3 = 3.24 kg / plot, each treatment was repeated 3 (three) times so that there were 48 experimental plots. Each experimental plot consisted of 9 plants with 4 sample plants. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, day of decoration, ear diameter, ear length, intensity of pest attack. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Giving jengkol bark biochar has no significant effect on the vegetative phase starting from plant height, stem diameter, number and has no significant effect on the generative phase starting from the day of flowering, cob diameter and cob length; 2) The application of chicken manure had no significant effect on the vegetative phase starting from plant height and the number of leaves had a significant effect on stem diameter. Meanwhile, in the generative phase, there is no significant effect starting from the day of flowering, cob diameter and cob length. 3) The combination treatment between giving jengkol skin biochar and chicken manure did not significantly affect the vegetative phase starting from plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves and had no significant effect on the generative phase starting from the flowering day on cob diameter and cob length.
