Abstract: Penelitian dilakukan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area yang berlokasi di jalan Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan dengan ketinggian tempat sekitar 12 meter dari permukaan laut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2013 sampai Juli 2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bahan kompos (kompos jerami padi, kompos jerami ilalang, kompos sekam padi dan kompos ampas tebu) terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman sawi. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, keliling batang, berat tanaman per sampel dan berat tanaman per plot. The research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area which is located on Jalan Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, Percut Sei Tuan District with an altitude of about 12 meters above sea level. This research was conducted from June 2013 to July 2013. This study aims to determine the effect of compost (rice straw compost, thatch straw compost, rice husk compost and bagasse compost) on the growth and production of mustard greens. The research method used was a non-factorial randomized block design. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, perimeter of stems, plant weight per sample and plant weight per plot.
