Abstract: PT. Cakra Compact Aluminium Industries Medan merupakan perusahaan Penanaman Modal Asing (PMA) yang bergerak dibidang Industri Aluminium denganjenis produk: Billet, Ekstrusi, dan Pabrikasi. Untuk memproduksi suatu barang atau jasa yang sangat perlu diperhatikan adalah mutu produk yang dihasilkan, karena mutu menjadi satu-satunya kekuatan terpenting yang membuahkan keberhasilan organisasi dan pertumbuhan perusahaan baik dipasar berskala nasional maupun intemasional. Penulis membatasi permasalahan hanya pada pengendalian mutu billet (aluminium batangan). Untuk mengetahui mutu produk billet dilakukan pemeriksaan laboratorium ~ dengan parameter mutu, yaitu: Komposisi unsur Si%, Unsur Fe %, Unsur Cu %, Unsur Mn %, Unsur Cr%, Unsur Al%. Data-data hasil pengujian laboratorium, dilakukan perhitungan uji distribusi normal dengan menggunakan uji chi-kwadrat (X2) dan diperoleh batas kendali, ini menunjukkan bahwa mutu billet sudah baik tetapi masih perlu untuk ditingkatkan.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PT. Cakra Compact Aluminum Industries Medan is a foreign investment company (PMA) which is engaged in the Aluminum Industry with product types: Billet, Extrusion, and Manufacturing. To produce a product or service that really needs to be considered is the quality of the product produced, because quality is the single most important force that results in organizational success and company growth both on a national and international scale. The author limits the problem only to the quality control of billets (aluminum bars). To determine the quality of billet products, a laboratory examination was carried out with quality parameters, namely: elemental composition% Si,% Fe elements,% Cu elements,% Mn elements,% Cr elements,% Al elements. The laboratory test results data, the calculation of the normal distribution test using the chi-square test (X2) and the control limit is obtained, this indicates that the quality of the billet is good but still needs to be improved.
