Title: Efektivitas Waktu Pemberian Pupuk Hijau Paitan (Tithonia diversifolia) dan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) Urin Sapi Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi serta Serangan OPT pada Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea mays saccharata L.)

Abstract: Essay, in the guidance of Azwana as the chairman of the mentor and Suswati as the member of the mentor. The research was done in the experimental garden of Faculty of Agriculture, Medan Area University, Jalan Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, with the height was 12 m dpl, the topography was flat, and the type of soil was alluvial, was held since April to July 2018. The research used the Factorial randomized group design (RAK) with two factors, that was the time factor for the Paitan application (P0=without the Paitan fertilizer; P1=1 week before planting; P2=3 weeks after planting) and the concentration factor of cow urine liquid fertilizer (U0=without POC, U1=20 ml/liter of POC; U2=40 ml/liter of POC; U3=60 ml/liter), was repeated twice. The observed parameter was the height of the plant, the number of the leaf, the length of the cob, the production of the sample plant per plot, the production per hectare, the clean production, the percentage and the intensity of the OPT attacks. The result of the research showed that the effectiveness of the time applying of Paitan P3 (3 weeks after planting) had a significant effect on the number of the sweet corn cobs and the application of the POC of the cow urine did not have a significant effect on all parameters. The effectiveness of the combination between the time applying of Paitan dan POC of the urine cow of treatment P3U3 had a significant effect on the height of the plant in 5 – 9 MST and the production per plot had a significant effect on the treatment P1U0 and there was no downy mildew (Penoroscleorospora maydis) or cob borer (Helicoverpa armigera),but there was Stewart wilt disease and midrib blisters (Rhizoctonia solani) with percentage 2,4% for Stewart wilt disease and 3,12% for midrib blisters (Rhizoctonia solani).
Description: Penelitian dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area, Jalan Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, dengan ketinggian 22 m dpl, topografi datar dan jenis tanah alluvial, dilaksanakan sejak April s/d Juli 2018. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan dua faktor, yaitu waktu aplikasi paitan (P0 = tanpa pupuk paitan; P1 = 1 minggu sebelum tanam; P2 = 3 minggu sebelum tanam; P3 = 3 minggu setelah tanam) dan faktor konsentrasi pupuk organik cair urin sapi (U0 = tanpa POC; U1 = 20 ml/liter POC; U2 = 40 ml/liter POC ; U3 = 60 ml/liter), diulang 2 kali. Parameter yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah tongkol, panjang tongkol, produksi tanaman sampel per plot, produksi per hektar, produksi bersih, persentase dan intensitas serangan OPT. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa efektivitas waktu aplikasi pemberian paitan P3 ( 3 minggu setelah tanam) berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, P1 (1 minggu sebelum tanam) berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah tongkol dan aplikasi POC urin sapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter. Efektivitas kombinasi antara waktu aplikasi pemberian paitan dan POC urin sapi perlakuan P3U3 berpengaruh nyata pada tinggi tanaman 5 – 9 MST dan produksi per plot berpengaruh nyata pada perlakuan P1U0 dan tidak ditemukan serangan penyakit bulai (Peronoscleorospora maydis) maupun penggerek tongkol (Helicoverpa armigera), tetapi dtemukan penyakit layu Stewart (Stewart wilt) dan penyakit busuk pelepah (Rhizoctonia solani) dengan persentase masing-masing (2,4%) layu stewart (Stewart wilt), (3,12%) penyakit busuk pelepah (Rhizoctonia solani).
