Title: Efektivitas Aplikasi Kompos Limbah Batang Pisang dan Kompos Jerami Padi Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Pisang Barangan (Musa acuminata L)

Abstract: This study aims to look at the effect of giving banana stem waste compost and compost rice straw on the growth of barangan banana seedling (Musa acuminata L.), which was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Medan Area University, Jalan Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, Percut Sei Tuan District with 12 M above sea level, flat topography and alluvial soil type. This research begins from April To June 2018. The design used in this study was Factorial Randomized Block Design with two treatment factors. 1) Treatment of Banana trunk compost consists of six treatment levels, namely, P0 = Only soil (Control); P1 = 2.5 g / kg planting medium (equivalent to 5 tons / ha); P2 = 5 g / kg of planting medium (equivalent to 10 tons / ha); P3 = 7.5 g / kg of planting medium (equivalent to 15 tons / ha); P4 = 10 g / kg of planting medium (equivalent to 20 tons / ha); P5 = 12.5 g / kg planting medium (equivalent to 25 tons / ha); and 2) Treatment of rice straw compost consists of six levels of treatment, namely, K0 = Only soil (Control); K1 = 2.5 g / kg planting medium (equivalent to 5 tons / ha); K2 = 5 g / kg planting medium (equivalent to 10 tons / ha); K3 = 7.5 g / kg planting medium (equivalent to 15 tons / ha); K4 = 10 g / kg planting medium (equivalent to 20 tons / ha); K5 = 12.5 g / kg planting medium (equivalent to 25 tons / ha); and repeated twice. Parameters observed in this study are: plant height (cm), number of leaves, stem circumference (cm), percentage of Fusarium wilt attack, plant wet weight (g), plant dry weight (g). The results of this study indicate that: Provision of banana stem compost significantly affects plant height; the provision of rice straw compost had no significant effect on all observation parameters; and there are interactions between treatment factors which show no significant effect on all observation parameters.
Description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian kompos limbah batang pisang dan kompos jerami padi terhadap pertumbuhan bibit pisang Barangan (Musa acuminate L.), Yang dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area, Jalan Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan dengan ketinggian 12 M dpl, topografi datar dan jenis tanah alluvial. Penelitian ini dimulai dari bulan April sampai dengan Juni 2018. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan dua faktor perlakuan. 1) Perlakuan kompos limbah batang pisang terdiri dari enam taraf perlakuan yaitu, P0 = hanya tanah saja (kontrol); P1 = 2.5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 5 ton/ha); P2 = 5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 10 ton/ha); P3 = 7.5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 15 ton/ha); P4 = 10 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 20 ton/ha); P5 = 12.5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 25 ton/ha); dan 2) Perlakuan kompos jerami padi terdiri dari enam taraf perlakuan yaitu, K0 = hanya tanah saja (kontrol); K1 = 2.5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 5 ton/ha); K2 = 5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 10 ton/ha);K3 = 7.5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 15 ton/ha); K4 = 10 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 20 ton/ha); K5 = 12.5 g/kg media tanam (setara dengan 25 ton/ha); dan di ulang sebanyak 2 (dua) kali. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini, yakni: tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun, lingkar batang (cm), persentase serangan layu Fusarium, berat basah tanaman (g), berat kering tanaman (g). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa: pemberian kompos limbah batang pisang berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman; pemberian kompos jerami padi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan; serta terdapat interaksi antar faktor perlakuan yang menunjukkan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan.
