Abstract: This study aimed to assess the potential of avocado seed extract as an antifungal agent and to determine the optimum concentration of avocado seed extract in inhibiting the growth of Colletotrichum. This research used laboratory- scale experimental methods. Inhibition test of extract towards Colletotrichum was carried out using poison food method using following extract concentration 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% Topsin M Wp 0.2% were used as negatif control. The result showed that avocado seed extract had a significant antifungal activity against Colletotrichum at the consentration of 40%, the effect was emerged since the 4th day of incubation which was observed by measuring fungal growth diameter.
Description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak biji alpukat sebagai antifungi dan konsentrasi optimum ekstrak biji alpukat dalam menghambat pertumbuhan jamur Colletotrichum. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental berskala laboratorium. Sampel biji alpukat diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Hasil ekstraksi dilanjutankan dengan uji penghambatan ekstrak etanol terhadap jamur Colletotrichum dengan variasi konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% sedangkan kontrol negatif (-) menggunakan Topsin M 70 WP 0,2%. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa ekstrak etanol biji alpukat memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap aktivitas jamur Colletotrichum dengan konsentrasi optimum 40% dan sudah ada sejak hari ke 4 setelah inkubasi yang diketahui dari diameter pertumbuhan jamur.
