Abstract: The research was aimed to find out the relation between employee engagement with work discipline, and also looking a differences in work discipline in terms of employment. The subject were employee in the national anti-narcotics agency of north sumatera province. Purposive sampling technique was used to determine the sample of the research and were used 72 people. Data collection in this research used is the psychological scale instrument of the likert scale format, which is the scale of work discipline and scale of employee engagement. The responses of questioners used 4-likert point. Data analysis method used in this research was simple regression analysis. Simple regression analysis shown the result are : 1. There are positive significant connectivity between employee engagement and work discipline. It’s proved correlation with coefficient relation rxy = 0.916 with 0.000 significant. It’s mean higher employee engagement, then higher work discipline to the employee and it’s mean that the hypothesis is being accepted. 2. Employee engagement has being involved to create work discipline. This factor making and influences work discipline by 83.9 %. In addition, employees of the National Narcotics Agency of North Sumatra Province have employee engagement and work discipline that is classified as high which can be seen from the empirical mean (92.09) > of the hypothetical mean (70) on employee engagement and the empirical mean (107.59) > the hypothetical mean (82.5) on work discipline. Then, there is also a though not significant difference between work disciplines in terms of employment of the National Narcotics Agency in Sumatra Province which can be known through F count = 1.481 and F table = 3.98 with 0.235 significant, it’s mean F count < F table (1,481 < 3.98).
Description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara employee engagement dengan disiplin kerja pegawai Badan Narkotika Nasional Provinsi Sumatera Utara, serta melihat perbedaan disiplin kerja ditinjau dari bidang kerja kepegawaian. Dalam penelitian ini, sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 72 orang, dengan menggunakan Teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen skala psikologis dengan format skala likert, dimana skala yang digunakan yaitu skala disiplin kerja dan skala employee engagement. Berdasarkan analisis data yang menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana, maka diperoleh hasil : 1. Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara employee engagement dengan disiplin kerja. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien korelasi rxy = 0.916 dengan signifikansi 0.000. Ini berarti bahwa semakin tinggi employee engagement pada pegawai maka, semakin tinggi disiplin kerja pada pegawai tersebut. Sebaliknya apabila semakin rendah employee engagement pada pegawai maka semakin rendah disiplin kerja pegawai tersebut. 2. Disiplin kerja dibentuk oleh employee engagement yang dimiliki oleh diri individu. Faktor ini membentuk dan mempengaruhi disiplin kerja sebesar 83.9 %. Selain itu, pegawai Badan Narkotika Nasional Provinsi Sumatera Utara mempunyai employee engagement dan disiplin kerja yang tergolong tinggi yang dapat terlihat dari mean empirik (92.09) > dari nilai hipotetik (70) pada employee engagement dan mean empirik (107.59) > mean hipotetik (82.5) pada disiplin kerja. Kemudian, terdapat juga perbedaan walau tidak signifikan antara disiplin kerja yang ditinjau dari bidang kerja kepegawaian Badan Narkotika Nasional Provinsi Sumatera yang dapat diketahui melalui nilai F hitung = 1.481 dan F tabel = 3.98 dengan sig. 0.235 dengan kata lain bahwa F hitung < F tabel.
